Questions, Answered

Common Questions

What should I wear on day one?

+

Wear whatever feels like you! Most of the team dresses casually. Jeans and a t-shirt are completely normal. If you're more comfortable in business casual, that's great too!

Will lunch be provided on my first day?

+

Yes! Lunch is on us Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Reply to your welcome email with any food allergies or preferences and we'll handle the rest.

What time does the workday end?

+

The typical workday ends ~5:00 PM CT. We'll walk through how to win your day during onboarding week!

Can I work remotely?

+

If and when you need to for focus time, life management, appointments, etc. you can absolutely work remotely, simply communicate it with your manager to give a heads up (and bonus points if you update your working location on Google Calendar)! But as standard practice, we work in our beautiful office together.

When do I get paid?

+

Payroll runs on the 15th and last day of the month.

Who do I contact if I have a question before day one?

+

Reach out to marina@getalpaca.com with anything you need help with before your first day. No question is too small - ask away!

Vision

Elevate teaching to a first-class profession.

How We Work

Five Practices We Live By

These shape every decision we make and how we treat the people around us.

01

Teachers Are #1.

We build with teacher input. Teachers are essential to our product, our storytelling, our company culture. We're here to elevate the profession.

02

Move with Joyful Ambition.

We find hard work and big goals to be delightful. We choose hard work. We operate with music and laughter in pursuit of ambitious success. We love a good challenge.

03

Build for Better.

We are focused on innovation for the profession of teaching. We question assumptions and work to constantly level up. Our product, our company, and ourselves.

04

Work Out Loud.

Our starting position is to work out in the open, inviting feedback, collaboration, celebration, and change in pursuit of the best result. We ask for help, accept help, and offer help.

05

Win Little, Win Big.

We show up with focused effort to achieve little wins as a team. When we don't win, we learn from it, and then show up again and again. When we stack little wins, we win big together.

Let's do this!

See You May 19!

We can't wait to meet you. Welcome aboard.
